From bestselling author Kaira Rouda, "a quick and sexy mystery is a challenge to unravel, and proves there’s nothing humdrum about the suburbs." - IndieReader APPROVED
“An intriguing cast of characters and an untimely death set the stage for a chick-lit, murder mystery in Rouda's (HERE, HOME, HOPE) latest novel. A trio of strong women form the centerpiece of the absorbing novel. The murder mystery serves as a captivating backdrop to the finely drawn characters, and the twist at the end is a fantastic revelation. It's a nod to Rouda's talent that despite the inherent (and severe) flaws each woman displays, the reader still forms an attachment to each of them. A light, engaging read that keeps readers guessing until the end.” ~ Kirkus Reviews
"There are few things more entertaining than stories revealing the seamy underside of suburban life." -- The US Review of Books RECOMMENDED
˃˃˃ "A murder mystery that kept me guessing until the end, with lovable characters who made me laugh and cry. Kaira Rouda has done it again!" USA Today and New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster
From the bestselling author of HERE, HOME, HOPE, comes a novel of suspense and choices, with a nod to the best of Susan Isaacs's tales of suburban murder.
Everything isn't what it seems in the wonderful suburb of Grandville. ALL THE DIFFERENCE is the story of three women whose lives become entangled by the choices they make and how, ultimately, one of them turns to murder to achieve her goals.
Roommates Laura and Angie couldn't be more different. Laura is a local celebrity, the television anchor who is motivated to move out of small-time media markets and on to the big time, no matter the cost. Meanwhile, Angie, a luckless waitress, spends her time waiting for Mr. Right to save her from temporary jobs and a life spent making bad choices.
On the other side of town, Ellen abandons her life as a successful fundraiser for that of an isolated housewife in the country estate she shares with her husband, whose affairs become increasingly hard to ignore. When the city’s gossip columnist, Maddie, and restaurant reviewer, Dixon, become involved in the mystery, the unlikely duo stir up more than they intended. But will anyone be able to stop the next murder?
With her signature compassion and wit, Kaira Rouda once again takes readers on an entertaining journey into the heart of women’s lives in suburbia - this time with adultry and murder in the mix.

This was, initially an interesting book. But I figured out the murderer too soon and then just rushed over the last six chapters. Didn't like any character in it. I need at least one I sympathize or connect with. One character seemed completely disposable: the story wouldn't have changed if she had not been in it at all. Meh. Won't buy her next book.Product details

All The Difference Domestic Suspense edition by Kaira Rouda Romance eBooks Reviews
This story has so many twists and turns. If you want a happily ever after, this is not it. The story is well written and continually has you guessing. I won't give any information about the characters because that would give away the ending. Just as in real life not all murderers are brought to justice
The choices we make... good and bad... make all the difference. Some people learn this early on in life...some later... and some never.
All The Difference is a well-paced domestic suspense thriller that will keep you up til the wee hours of the morning... "just one more chapter; I promise"... as you race to its shocking conclusion. Sex, murder, betrayal, intrigue make this truly a "can't-put-down" book.
Written with panache and a well-rounded cast of characters, All The Difference is a "must-read" I recommend without hesitation. Kaira Rouda never disappoints and All The Difference is no exception.
***spoilers***
This book was okay. I found the dialogue unrealistic and sometimes odd. For example, repetition of the person's name while they were talking to that person. I maybe say my husband's name once a day, but the people in the book were like "Hey, Michael. Why are you doing this, Michael. Michael, I can't believe you did that." Kind of bothered me. Also, I feel like I spent way too much time in each character's head so that the plot was revealed fairly easily. The author pulled us back from Ellen's inner thoughts pretty early on, so that was a clue that something was different with her. I feel that if she had taken us out of the character's heads it might have been a better book with more guessing as to their motives.
It took a long time to get through this book and I was a little disappointed at the end. I did like the flashback to the past though towards the end it felt confusing and like the author was mentally done with this book and just shut it down. We see Angie planning to go to Chicago, we see a flash of Laura beginning another odd relationship to get ahead, we see Dixon writing an ominous "I know whodunnit" letter but no resolution. The book just ends.
Kaira Rouda has a gift for engaging storytelling. All The Difference was a wonderful weekend read, that had me turning the pages to find out what happens next. I was captivated by the intertwined story lines that seamlessly wove adultery, betrayal, deceit, jealousy, murder, and reinvention in suburbia. All The Difference had me guessing who the murderer actually was until the last page. Although looking back, subtle clues were cleverly laid throughout the story, the twist and turns kept me guessing until the last page.
Kaira Rouda brilliantly captures the drama and scandals of suburbia, where nothing is quite as it seems. Her cast of characters, were rich, diverse, and beautifully developed. I loved the running theme throughout the story of choices and consequences, and how the each choice can make All The Difference.
I find myself eagerly awaiting her next book. Yes, there's a tantalizing preview at the end of the book.
After reading a few of Kaira Rouda's books and enjoying them, I decided to give one of her earlier ones a go and though it was a different feel than her others, it was still really good and worth reading. All the Difference starts off like a murder mystery novel where a house has been on fire and looks like a gas leak - the male is dead and the female is hanging on for her dear life. The book then jumps back in time , as it tells the story on how all the characters came to meet and intertwine. We have Laura - the news reporter who is a seductress and will do anything for a story and also a bit on the side , Angela - Laura's dowdy and annoying roommate who is willing to do anything to keep her friends -even if it means doing Laura's dirty work for her or having her sloppy seconds to get ahead in life , Ellen - once a famous charity fundraiser and event organiser, she now lives her life out in the country as a housewife after her husband moved them out there , she dreams of one day having a child. These three women all want something out of life and will go to lengths to have it all. In All the Difference, it shows us that timing is everything and that sometimes in order to get one thing in life , the thing you want the most - planning is vital and important and though it may take a while -it will be worth it all in the end. This book keeps you guessing as you see husbands dropping like flies and you read of someone's background and life and you wonder which character is really pulling all the strings in the game of life and death.
A little different than her other books , but still brillantly written and enjoyable especially if you are in the mood for a little romantic suspense and journalism antics - anything to crack that big story - whatever it may be.
If you like a great mystery, this is the book for you! The writing is crisp. I love the web of characters and how they intertwine. And the flashback scenes are brilliant.
A must-read by a fabulous author!
I enjoyed this story for the concept but not for the writing. I found the writing to be difficult to follow at times so that the story didn't flow as well as I thought it could.
This was, initially an interesting book. But I figured out the murderer too soon and then just rushed over the last six chapters. Didn't like any character in it. I need at least one I sympathize or connect with. One character seemed completely disposable the story wouldn't have changed if she had not been in it at all. Meh. Won't buy her next book.
